Welcome to “The Art of Static Mixing.” In this course, you’ll learn how to create an initial static mix by balancing audio signal levels. You’ll cover how to gain stage each element and group tracks together, balancing each group individually before mixing them together. This process will give you a clearer idea of the sound you want and preserve a restore point for reviewing different mix alterations.
A static mix is a rough draft mix made with only the basic DAW mixer tools like the channel faders, aux sends, and panning. It’s done to balance the levels of all the tracks in a session and put them in a general position before changing any of the sounds with compression, EQ, or reverb.
By the end of this course, you’ll have a solid foundation in static mixing, enabling you to approach your mixes with confidence and clarity.
